  • Level 4 IVC thrombus is traditionally delt with open approach. Minimal invasive approach like totally robotic is rarely attempted, because of complexity of surgery, accuracy required for the same and risks involved. It is multidisciplinary teamwork with experts in robotic urology and vascular surgery and robotic liver surgery with good bedside assistant. Total robotic approach guarantees, less blood loss, less pain, less scar and earlier recovery along with similar oncological outcome in this case compared to open approach. This is novel approach and can be standardised to level 4 IVC Thrombus on case-to-case basis.
